    A: Precisely.
  • Q: Can I play 3DS Games on the computer?
A: As for now, there is no software that emulates the 3DS Games to play on the computer. In short, there is no emulator for 3DS at the moment.
  • Q: How can we play the 3DS ROMs, then?
A: You need a modified storage devices to play the ROM. These devices are also known as "flash-carts". It has the same function with Original Cartridge to play any particular games.

  • Q: Can you recommend me what Flash-cart is the best?
A: There has been so many type of flash-cart release recently. But, many flash-cart users prefer the Gateway flash-cart to boot the 3DS ROM. You also need an external memory *micro SD Card as the container of the flash-cart files and the ROM itself.
However, you will be able to put
only 1 Game to the micro SD. The flash-cart still has no compatibility on multi-roms. The price is quite expensive but still affordable.
  • Q: Do you know any Flash-cart which support the multi-roms?
A: Recently, a Team named MTCard just released their new flash-carts. It is reported that this flash-cart supports the multi-roms which is enabling you to play more than 1 Game in the flash-cart.

Sadly, the price is as expensive as Gateway version. However, it is worth to buy.
  • Q: Some says that if I bought a new 3DS, the flash-cart wouldn't work. Why?
A: Actually, it is based on the firmwares. So, if you buy a new 3DS but the firmware is below v4.5, the Flash-cart will work. But, many shops release the new version of 3DS and the firmware is above v4.5 which will block the flash-cart.
  • Q: What's wrong with firmware v4.5?
    What if I had a 3DS system above v4.5?

A: I'm not quite sure about this one. However, the Flash-cart team along with the hacker haven't cracked the newest firmware. The team itself announced that they had cracked the 3DS system on firmware v4.5 before releasing the Flash-cart.
In short, these flash-carts are still not compatible with the firmware above v4.5 at the moment.
But it would be likely to be released at some time in the future. Just be patient.
